forwardDallas! Amendments

forwardDallas! is a first-of-a-kind city-led, citywide comprehensive plan. Driven by direct citizen involvement, forwardDallas! envisions what kind of city within which Dallas residents want to live and do business. On June 14, 2006, City Council adopted the forwardDallas! Comprehensive Plan. The plans below, listed in chronological order, have amended the forwardDallas! Plan since its adoption.

UNT-Dallas Area Plan – De​cem​ber 2009

The Trinity River Corridor Comprehensive Land Use Plan (2005) has the following amended revision: ​​​Oak Cliff Gateway - December 2009

In December of 2009 the Oak Cliff Gateway, Study area 14, was an amendment to the 2005 Trinity Corridor Plan. Click here for the  2005 Trinity River Corridor plan and here for the 2009 ammendment for the Oak Cliff Gateway area.

The Stemmons Corridor – Southwestern Medical District Area Plan – June 2010​

Covering about 6 square miles, this area plan was the first of the comprehensive plan area plans as identified in the Comprehensive Plan to be completed. Click here for the plan landing page.

The Dallas Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Plans – March 2013

Under a HUD and Federal DOT "Challenge" grant, the City focused on DART light rail 7 stations and adopted guidance with the 5 plans below.

The Valley View – Galleria Area Plan (Midtown Area Plan) – June 2013

The Dallas City Council adopted the The Valley View – Galleria Area Plan for the area also known as 'Mid-Town',  bounded by Southern Boulevard to the north, Preston Road to the east, LBJ Freeway to the south, and the Dallas North Tollway to the west. This plan was used as the basis to update the zoning for the area. Click here for more information on the plan.

The Neighborhood Plus Plan - October 2015

The Neighborhood Plus Plan, adopted in October 2015, amended the  forwardDallas Comprehensive Plan by replacing the Housing and Neighborhood Elements.  Click here for more information on the plan.
